Magpies straddle both the inspiration and chaos archetypes. In Ancient Rome, the Magpie was sacred and linked to the god Bacchus. In ancient Greece, the Magpie was associated with Dionysus and intoxication. We'll also get into how Christianity coopted this symbolic bird and how that fed into many modern day superstitions in areas where magpies live.
